Deep Creek Dunk – Third Weekend in February – Walking distance!!
One of the most fun events all year! Plunge into the freezing waters of Deep Creek Lake to benefit the Maryland Special Olympics. The event offers a Friday night special wine tasting and then the main Dunk on Saturday! Easy walking distance from Cove Creek Lodge!
Fire on the Mountain – Fourth of July
Celebrate the 4th of July at Deep Creek! There are two fireworks shows, one in Oakland and one in McHenry. You’ll need to travel a few miles from the Cove to get there, but it’s worth it for the show!
Art in the Park – Mid-July
Art in the Park is a two-day event that offers vendors, demonstrations from the Discovery Center Staff, and of course – art activities for kids! Located at Deep Creek Lake State Park, it’s just a few miles from Cove Creek Lodge!
Victorian Chautauqua – Second Weekend in July
This two-day event is located is nearby historic Mountain Lake Park. Step back in time and enjoy the golden era of this beautiful community!
Garrett County Agricultural Fair – End of July-Beginning of August
Seven days of fun! Located at the Garrett County Fairgrounds, the fair offers amusement rides, games, amazing local food vendors, and tons of adorable animals! Stroll through the fairgrounds and enjoy the nostalgia!
Deep Creek Art & Wine Festival – Second Weekend in September
Enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting and fun at the annual Deep Creek Art & Wine Festival. Located at the Garrett County Fairgrounds, there’s a special VIP tasting on Friday and then the all-day festival on Saturday!
Autumn Glory Festival – Second Weekend in October
A local ‘must-do’! The Autumn Glory Festival is a 5-day event that offers two parades, craft and vendor shows, and dozens of specials and activities around the area. Set at the perfect time for peak fall foliage!

Located in Grantsville's Spruce Forest Artisan Village, beside the historic Casselman River Bridge and State Park, get in the holiday spirit while getting your Christmas shopping done! Browse dozens of local artisans - many of which have a residency in the village! Walk across the light-adorned historic bridge, grab some cider, and enjoy the experience!
Oakland Winterfest – Presidents’ Day Weekend
Usually occurring over Presidents’ Day Weekend, Oakland’s Winterfest includes ice sculptures, a wine walk, live music, and other activities in downtown Oakland. Downtown Oakland features dozens of shops, restaurants, and museums – all in easy walking distance! Located about 15 minutes from Cove Creek Lodge.
